River Kids Special Needs Ministry provides a gospel-centered, inclusive environment for individuals with special needs. We believe everyone should have access to God and be an active, valued part of the church. Our desire is for every child with special needs to grow in their relationship with God and be discipled to follow Jesus.

We strive to ensure that all our environments are safe and secure and that is why each room is supervised by multiple volunteers who have been carefully vetted and trained to care for and support the large variety of needs we see each week.

Adult Sensory Class

Sundays: 9:30a

We offer a thoughtfully designed sensory room for adults with sensory sensitivities or special needs. The space is adapted to support individual comfort and regulation, providing a calm environment during services or events. A gospel-centered Bible story and music are included as part of the experience.

Children’s Sensory Class

Sundays: 9:30a + 11:15a

We offer a thoughtfully designed sensory room created specifically for children with special needs and adapted to each child’s individual abilities and needs. Each session includes a gospel-centered Bible story and music time for children to enjoy.

Inclusion within our Children’s Ministry is also available. We partner with families to determine the best option for each child, which may include being paired with a one-on-one Sidekick who helps your child fully participate in our Children’s Ministry.

Helpful Info

  Where Do I Go?

Follow the signs to The River Kids check-in area (Door A) on the first floor or look for one of our volunteers wearing a River Kids shirt. We’re glad to answer all your questions.

  How do I check in?

Check-in opens 20 minutes before each service starts. If you’re visiting us for the first time you will need to fill out a First Time Guest registration form and a quick intake form to receive your child’s entry sticker. The sticker serves two purposes:

  • Parent Paging If we need to get a hold of you, the number on your sticker will be displayed in the auditorium and throughout the building.

  • Child Pick-up You must present your portion of the sticker before we release your child.

Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or older sibling who is 16 or older. Children may not check themselves in.

If it is your first time with us, we will have you fill out a quick form so we can best serve your child! You can click the button below to go ahead and fill it out!
