The River is committed to loving families and shaping the next generation to know and follow Jesus. River Kids volunteers help create safe, fun, and gospel-centered environments for children and families every week. If you’re ready to make an impact, River Kids is a great place to jump in!

Pre-School Serve Team

Service Coordinator: Help coordinate 4-5 classrooms on the preschool hallway through greeting, supporting teachers, and encouraging all kids in having a wonderful experience in River Kids! Commitment is about 1.5 hours on Sundays.

Infant & Toddler Classroom Leader: Help babies and toddlers have a fun and safe experience in River Kids through actively engaging the kids, loving, and caring for our littlest River Kids. Commitment is about 1.5 hours on Sunday.

Preschool Classroom Leader: Lead children ages 2-5 in engaging worship, Bible lessons, and activities (all the lessons, activities, and materials are provided and ready to go)! Help guide children in connecting with God and each other through play and healthy interactions. Commitment is about 1.5 hours on Sundays.

Elementary Serve Team

Service Coordinator: Invest in 4-8 classroom leaders by offering classroom support, encouragement, and guidance during River Kids services. Ensure that each child has an excellent experience, and that all safety policies are followed. Commitment is about 1.5 hours per week.

Small Group Leader: Lead a small group of elementary students in activities, games, and Bible study using the provided curriculum and supplies to help students learn about God. Commitment is about 1.5 hours per week.

Sidekick / Special Needs Buddy: Guide children with special needs in developmentally appropriate activities, games, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum to help them connect with God and their peers. Opportunities include one-on-one supports as a “buddy” or as a leader in our sensory rooms - unique spaces designed specifically for children with various needs. Commitment is about 1.5 hours per week.

First Impressions Serve Team

Check-In Desk & Reports Coordinator: Greet and check in families who don’t use self-check-in, enter new family info, verify attendance records, and share totals with the Usher team. 11:30 service volunteers also help with tear down/clean up. Commitment: Full service time.

Self Check-In Assistant: Welcome and assist families using self-check-in stations, change printer paper or iPad setups as needed, and help prep for the next service. Commitment: 30 minutes.

New Family Escort: Walk new families to their classrooms, explain security procedures, and share how to use self-check-in for future Sundays. Commitment: 30 minutes.

Greeter: Offer a warm welcome to families and kids as they arrive, and direct new families to the check-in desk with a smile! Commitment: 30 minutes.
