River Women Team
Care Groups Serve Teams
Connection Team - We make phone calls in order to invite, touch base, or answer questions about River Women groups or connect them to other ministries that meet real needs (such as Heart of the Cumberland, Deeper Still, etc.).
Support Team - Serve inside Care Group events and initiatives with things like setup and teardown, greeting, managing resources, and ministering to those involved.
Cards, Hospitals, Shut-Ins, and Funerals - Show care to those who are hurting or lonely. Use your gift of encouragement in these behind-the-scenes opportunities: send cards to those who need hope, support, and comfort, or make personal visits or phone calls. Providing meals is also a way to serve and offer support.
Community Groups Serve Teams
Support Team - Serve inside Community Group events and initiatives with things like setup and teardown, greeting, managing resources, and ministering to those involved.
Gathering Gals Team - A team of committed young women within The Gathering who take ownership of ministry areas such as hospitality, small groups, events, prayer, and outreach.
The Gathering Support Team - Adult women who want to be hospitable and relational with college girls by hosting them in homes, mentoring, encouragement, and additional support at Gathering Gal events and spaces.
Widows Ministry Support Team - Other women who want to be hospitable and relational with Widows by helping with transportation, hosting them in homes, encouragement, and additional support.
Life Group Host - Assist the LIfe Group Leader with additional support like setup and teardown, greeting, managing resources, and ministering to those involved.
Agape Moms Serve Teams
Welcome Team - Create a friendly and Christ-centered atmosphere by warmly greeting moms each week. In conjunction with the Hospitality Team, help set up and prepare our space each week.
Hospitality Team - Have a passion for hospitality and enjoy overseeing our coffee and food. In conjunction with the Welcome Team, help set up and prepare our space each week.
As You Go Team - Lead us in our pursuit of being on mission for Jesus wherever we go by planning and coordinating mission partnerships and outings.
Prayer Team - Have a burden and passion to pray for others, and help lead our tribe in our pursuit of God in both praise, lament, and petition.
Moms Loving Moms Team - Passionate about taking care of new moms and moms who have recently delivered a baby. This team will provide physical and/or emotional support during the postpartum period.
Study Groups Serve Teams - Women’s Midweek Bible Study
Set-Up Team - Set the stage for the evening by setting up our study space, making sure tables are ready, and strategically placing signage.
Clean-Up Team - Reset our space by tearing down study supplies, resetting the room, and cleaning up for the next thing.
Greeters/Registration/Check-In Team (5:30-6:00p) - Create a fun and welcoming environment by connecting with ladies and assisting in any needs or answering questions they have.
Follow-Up Team - Make phone calls to ladies who are new or have missed a few weeks.
Prayer/Hospitality Team - pray over each table leader, teacher, & participants each week, and coordinate extra goodies for a snack/fellowship night.
Events Serve Teams
Event Support - Periodically, we host River Women events. These events always require assistance from greeters, set up and tear down help, hospitality, etc.
Event Media - Creatives who are capable of capturing photo and video, posting on socials, and other content creation.
Leader Roles
Life Group Leaders - Life Group leaders host a group that meets in a home or on campus on a regular basis and are responsible for fostering a healthy, Christ-centered community for the group through facilitating Bible-based discussion.
Table Leaders / Mentor Moms - Similar to Life Group Leaders, Table Group Leaders foster a learning environment and facilitate discussion for a small table group within a larger ministry, such as Women’s Bible Study or Agape Moms. These Table Groups are short-term, semester-based, and run in conjunction with other Midweek studies offered. Opportunities include Women’s Bible Study, Agape Moms, and Widows Ministry.
Bible Study Teachers - Competent and confident women who can study, prepare, teach, and lead Bible Studies.
Care Group Leaders - Do you have the desire to help others with something you have struggled with yourself? Support groups are a great way to use your experience to help others. Opportunities include Mending the Soul, Grief Group, and Restored/Mental Health.
Leader Requirements
Become a member of The River.
Fill out a River Women Leader Application.
Complete required leader training and meeting with a member of the River Women Team.
