OUTREACH & EVANGELISM
Cinderella Park
Number of Volunteers: 5
Location: Cinderella Park, 1400 Mitchell Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501
About: One of Cookeville’s oldest neighborhood parks.
What to Expect: Work on repairs and improvements to the park to include painting, raking, renewing sand boxes and building a bocce ball court, engage families in the park in conversation, give away snacks and River kids information..
Kid-friendly.
Jere Whitson Park
Number of Volunteers: 15
Location: Jere Whitson Park, 272 E Jere Whitson Rd, Cookeville, TN 38501
About: A Cookeville city park with play equipment, picnic areas, and ball fields.
What to Expect: Grill and provide a simple hot dog lunch, paint outside of bathroom building, engage families/youth in conversation, give away River Collision information, and clean up the grounds as needed.
Kid-friendly.
The Gathering's Campus Edge Apartments Outreach
Number of Volunteers: CLOSED PROJECT
Location: Campus Edge Apartments, 1400 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501
About: The Gathering desires to make much of Christ, to make Him known, and to mobilize a generation of 20-somethings to impact eternity.
What to Expect: Interact and connect with college students with a free food or coffee giveaway followed by prayer walking and evangelism.
The Exchange's International Students Hike
Number of Volunteers: CLOSED PROJECT
Location: Fall Creek Falls, 2009 Village Camp Rd, Spencer, TN 38585
About: The River’s Exchange ministry focuses on sharing the love of Christ and being a friend to international students who are far from home.
What to Expect: Connect with and guide international students on a hike to Fall Creek Falls. Dress and pack for a moderate 2 mile hike. For trail information, visit:
COMMUNITY PARTNERS & MINISTRIES
Cookeville Rescue Mission
Number of Volunteers: 15
Location: 1331 S Jefferson Ave, Cookeville, TN 38506
About: Founded in 1976, Cookeville Rescue Mission is the oldest and largest rescue mission in the Upper Cumberland, whose purpose and pledge is to serve homeless and needy people through a program of spiritual, physical, material and emotional assistance coupled with education and public awareness.
What to Expect: Get your hands dirty with some landscaping. Mulch needs to be spread in the playground and pavers need to be added to finish a walkway.

Jere Whitson Elementary School

About: One of The River’s school adoptions, we believe in serving Jere Whitson Elementary School as they actively pour into the next generation in our community.
What to Expect: Spruce up the campus by fulfilling the need new mulch along the grounds.

Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic
Number of Volunteers: 5
Location: 714 N Dixie Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501
About: CPC is a cost-free women's medical clinic providing confidential services. They offer pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STI/STD testing and treatment, post-abortion support, peer counseling, parent education, and material assistance.
What to Expect: Assist with some of the tedious jobs inside such as deep cleaning and sorting clothes and help outside by potting flowers and weed eating, laying landscaping fabric and spreading rock around the HVAC unit.
Cane Creek Elementary School
Number of Volunteers: 6

About: One of The River’s school adoptions, we believe in serving Cane Creek Elementary School as they actively pour into the next generation in our community.
What to Expect: Spread mulch along the grounds.

Rising Above Ministries
Number of Volunteers: 8
Location: 215 Reagan St, Cookeville, TN 38501
About: Rising Above Ministries offers support, encouragement, and community to special-needs families through events, resources, and curriculum.
What to Expect: Assist with some of the tedious jobs inside such as deep cleaning and washing windows, light sanding and painting so that this ministry can present an inviting safe space for hurting families every week.
Pasture Clean Up
Number of Volunteers: 14
Location: The Cross @ The River Community Church
About: The neighboring property owner that is directly behind the cross allows us to clear his land as needed so that the cross is visible.
What to Expect: Get your manual labor in by clearing downed trees, chipping branches, cutting up logs, and hauling off firewood.

About: This is a woman from our church body who is in need of some assistance with small projects.
What to Expect: Help with small projects around her home.
Operation United Hope
Number of Volunteers: CLOSED PROJECT
Location: 5725 Hwy 111 Unit 3, Cookeville, TN 38506 (green commercial spaces)
About: A nonprofit organization serving veterans, active duty service members, and their immediate families with basic necessities and mental health services.
What to Expect: Help this organization get settled in their new building by stocking shelves, cleaning, building shelves, and processing cases of food.
Widow Project # 2

About: This is a widow from our church body who is in need of some assistance with small projects.
What to Expect: Help with small projects around her home.
Manna's Hana
Number of Volunteers: CLOSED PROJECT
Location: 1285 Brotherton Dr, Cookeville, TN 38506
About: Manna’s HANA is a nonprofit corporation founded through love to provide recreational riding for individuals with special needs by means of equine-assisted activities.
What to Expect: Get your hands dirty with shoveling manure, shoveling gravel and sand into horse stalls, sanding down old paint, and repainting a round pen and gate.
