Committed to walking alongside you, your marriage, your family and anything that life throws at you. Explore our resources below. If you don’t see what you’re looking for or need immediate assistance contact us.

 At some point, most of us find ourselves in a situation where we simply need someone to come alongside and help us navigate the challenges we are facing. These challenges may be from past hurts, current circumstances, marital issues, parenting difficulties, emotional stress, abuse, trauma, etc. We partner with several local, Christian counselors who are called and qualified to help. Restored is a Christ centered recovery ministry for men and women who want to break free from the bondage of addiction, co-dependency, deception and destructive behaviors. Restored meets weekly on Tuesday evenings. For more information, contact James Patton at james@therivercc.com.

Pre-Marriage

We currently offer our six-session Preparing for Marriage class twice a year (Spring and Fall).  For more information please contact Dean McKenzie at dmckenzie@therivercc.com.

Young Married Couples

We offer several Life Groups (small groups) for young married couples.  For a list of these groups, please see our Lifegroups section or contact our Life Group pastor, Dean McKenzie at dmckenzie@therivercc.com

Date Nights

Our date night events for married couples are legendary!  We offer 2-3 date nights per year that provide married couples the opportunity to enjoy an evening of fun and romance!  Past events have included dinner and dancing,  tacos and trivia, scavenger hunt, masquerade ball, square dance, and many more.  To find out when our next married couples date night event is, please contact the church office at 931.528.3660

Re|engage

Every marriage has room for improvement. Re|engage gives you a safe place to work on your relationship together, regardless of whether your marriage needs saving or you just want to take it from good to great.  Re|engage is a 14 session class that features large group and small group components.  Currently it is offered two times a year.  To learn more, or to find out when our next class starts, please contact Dean McKenzie at dmckenzie@therivercc.com or 931.528.3660

Marriage Counseling

Sometimes our marriage needs some intervention.  If you and your spouse find yourself stuck in a rut, or possible at a breaking point, please let us help.  We partner with local Christian marriage counselors/mentors that can help you navigate your current situation and find hope and healing.  For more information, please contact pastor Dean McKenzie at dmckenzie@therivercc.com

Blended2Gether

Blended marriages come in many different shapes and sizes and have their own unique set of challenges and opportunities.  We get it!  Many of our families are blended and have been there, done that…and still doing it! Our blended families ministry offers weekly small groups, midweek classes, conferences/retreats, and mentoring programs.  For more information please contact Buddy and Amy Pearson at bandafamily15@gmail.com 

We currently have a couple of men’s discipleship groups that meet throughout the week. In addition, we have our annual MANCAMP (usually in August) where we challenge men to be godly leaders and influencers of their sons and the next generation. We offer four Sessions of Midweek classes each year (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). Each session runs about 8 weeks and includes a variety of classes offered to help increase biblical literacy, awaken spiritual awareness, and encourage a missional lifestyle. Classes include Membership, women’s studies, marriage issues, books of the bible, parenting classes, theological studies, missions training, and many others. Our women’s ministry consists of weekly groups, midweek studies, and annual events.
