In His Presence
Oh how I love to praise and worship and feel the presence of the Lord! I have felt the overwhelming presence of the Lord many times and in different circumstances. One such time was at a women’s conference in North Carolina. The praises of these 500+ women praising Jesus was overwhelming in the best possible way. God speaks to me so loudly and profoundly in times of corporate worship. I was at a terrible place in my life at this time and needed to hear from God desperately. A lady in front of me turned around and grabbed me tightly around the neck, and saying in my ear, “Your deliverance is coming, your deliverance is coming, God wants you to know your deliverance is coming!” I had no idea what it meant I just knew without a doubt that it was from God.
After the service I asked the lady what is meant and she said “Honey I don’t know. That is just what the Lord was telling me to say to you.” It overwhelms me to even write this to you now. God is so good to me to send me a message like that. He truly has delivered me from that terrible time in my life.
There are many other times in praise and worship, times alone in the stillness, dancing before the Father that I have felt him. I was attending a Thanksgiving Worship Service at the River Community Church. The music and worship ushered in the presence of the Holy Spirit in a mighty and beautiful way. It was an amazing time I could feel the Lord holding me up yet again because of a terrible time in my life.
After the service ended someone I barely knew, a precious young lady, come all the way to the back where I was sitting to tell me something. As soon as she started I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit talking to me through her. She told me the Lord wanted me to know he was doing a new thing and not to be afraid. She said it would not look like I would expect but to trust him because he would be with me. She said “Don’t be afraid.” I don’t remember all that she said I just remember feeling the Lord would be with me no matter what and that it was going to be rough or he wouldn’t have sent me a warning. Of course, he has been with me through the roughest time of my life as well as all of the good. He is the good in my life.
His presence carries us through times when we don't know how to take the next step. How does he carry you through? Do you feel his presence in your life? If not, do you want to?
Prayer: Lord Jesus thank you for wooing us to yourself through the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for blessing us with your presence. Lord may we always hunger for your presence. May we always worship you in spirit and truth. In Jesus name I pray.
